Different forms of changemakers

There are many ways to be a changemaker for a more sustainable and socially responsible world tomorrow.

I'm using here the typology of changemakers proposed in the book "Activez, vos talents ils peuvent changer le monde" by Matthieu Dardaillon (in French), which I recommend. Matthieu Dardaillon is the founder of "Ticket for Change," a French organization that is a new generation school for changemakers.

This typology is interesting because one might think that having a positive impact on the world is strictly reserved for the private sphere: volunteering, consuming responsibly, being careful to limit waste...

Of course, each of our actions helps us have a positive impact on society, but what if, in addition to this, we could do work that contributes to change?

Matthieu Dardaillon's typology helps us understand that we don't all need to create a new company for that. He opens doors for us by saying that every person can be a changemaker wherever they are, with their own personality.

How can you be a changemaker?

Changemakers

  • Entrepreneur : by creating a new company that has a positive impact on society.
  • Replicator : by launching a franchise of an impact project that works.
  • Business successor : by taking over an impact company looking for someone to give them new momentum.
  • Intrapreneur : by deciding to change things where you are. By seeking to create leverage with your structure to solve a problem on a larger scale.

There are two types of intrapreneurs in organizations:

    • The impact intrapreneur who initiates projects, products, services that are linked to the company's strategy. These could potentially become new "business units" of the company.
    • The transformation agent: who helps the company to be more favorable to change.
  • Impact leader : by trying to transform your company into an impact company.
  • Contributor : by joining and strengthening projects initiated by others.
  • Freelance : by choosing to dedicate a significant part of your time to projects with a positive impact.

In conclusion, there are many ways to act to make our world more socially responsible and sustainable.
