Being supported by the collective and mentoring

There are different organizations that provide support through collective action or mentoring when you are looking for a new job.

Co-searching

You're not alone in looking for work, so why not search together?

Job searching with others has several advantages:

  • Motivate yourself thanks to the group.
  • Support each other mutually in case of hard times.
  • Benefit from other members' networks.
  • Receive advice and tips.
  • Exchange small services: I look at the design of your CV and you proofread my cover letter...
  • The group can also broaden your horizons.

We suggest starting by looking in your circle or in your networks and seeing if you can find a few people (2 or 3) with whom to create a group.

When you have found these 2, 3 people, you just need to take turns hosting each other and/or set up video conference appointments every X time.

There are also organizations that set this up, such as:

The organisation Cosearching created on the initiative of Actiris and Le Forem in collaboration with different collective intelligence actors:

  • Divergens organizes learning tribes to become an actor in your transformation.
  • Activ’Action which seems more active in France than in Belgium.
  • Backstage.Network which supports Brussels residents in their socioprofessional integration.

Mentoring

Why not form a team with someone more experienced than you? They will help you in your job search by meeting with you a few times a month.

There are organizations that specialize in supporting people of foreign nationality or Belgians from immigration backgrounds like Duo for a Job but there are also similar organizations open to everyone such as:

Team4Job in Brussels.

MentorYou in Brussels.

Be.Face in Brussels.

Duo Solidaire in Court-Saint-Etienne.

And there is now a federation of mentoring actors where you will find certain actors called Mentoring.Belgium

In case of disability

the non-profit organisation Diversicom facilitates the employment of people with disabilities based on their skills.

The nonprofit offers support and job coaching and connects people with disabilities with potential employers.

Don't hesitate to contact them.

There are other organizations that can provide you with information via AVIQ (Wallonia), PHARE (Brussels) or VAPH (Flanders).

Don't hesitate to share this content with your loved ones. It could be useful to them.
